The Crew

Our crew consists of 10 Indonesian seamen, a Western Cruise Manager / PADI Dive Instructor, and a Divemaster. They all are certified, experienced, and with a passion for the sea, Indonesia, liveaboard diving, and the Adelaar. They work tirelessly, mainly behind the scenes, to assure that our exclusive diving & sailing cruises run smoothly. Some of our crew members are working for 25 years with Adelaar. It seems that they were born to be at sea. The captain and our crew welcome you any time at the upper deck bridge area. From there, you can observe them at work, and get involved in navigating or steering the ship. They will also be up for a cup of tea, a chat, or a game of chess.

Cuisine on Adelaar

The ultimate dining experience at sea…

Our chefs prepare a splendid mix of Indonesian & Western cuisine especially suited for dining at sea. All meals are prepared on board, using only the freshest and finest ingredients. In fact, our chefs personally do all the shopping before each trip, gathering from local Balinese markets and trusted suppliers. Throughout your liveaboard diving experience, you can indulge in our cooks signature dishes served in the air-conditioned dining room or the salon. Yet, weather permitting, we will serve under the stars, on deck in the outside area.

Especially trained by a top Belgian master-chef, our local chefs – Wayan & Made, ensure a sophisticated twist on the contemporary flavors of Indonesia. Seasoned by 15 years of meal preparation onboard Adelaar, they know precisely how to pamper our guests. Aromatic local specialties, paired with global cuisine, is guaranteed to soothe your palate. By the end of your 11 day journey, we are sure that you will agree that we have perfected the art of dining at sea!

Have a special request? Just let us know. Nothing is too much trouble for our two kitchen gurus. Since the galley is located just next to the dining room, you are welcome into their domain anytime.
