FAQ
Seasons in Indonesia
The dry season is from March or April until November. The rainy season typically starts at the end of December and lasts until the end of March. However, average rainfall in Komodo and Alor is typically much less than in Western regions of Indonesia. The area of the Komodo National Park has great diving throughout the year, but July and August are the most popular months for visitors.
Water temp° & Wetsuit
Water temperatures can change from tropical warm 84 °F / 29 °C to a cool 74 °F / 21 °C. A 5/4 mm neoprene wet-suit or a 3/2 mm neoprene wet-suit plus a hooded vest are recommended.
Do I need a Visa?
To enter Indonesia, your passport must be valid for more than 6 months and you must show proof of a ticket out to another country. Members of 92 countries can obtain a 30 day “Visa on Arrival” (VOA) at the airport. The cost is USD 35 and can be extended for another 30 days (additional cost). Check with your local Indonesian Embassy to see if you are eligible for Visa on Arrival.
Travel & Diving insurance
While Travel Insurance is not mandatory for our trips, we highly recommend one that will cover you in the event of illness or flight issues, which could lead to a trip cancellation. However, diving insurance is mandatory for all divers on all of our cruises. Before departure, you will need to provide your valid diving insurance card. If you do not yet have diving insurance, we can recommend one through our partner DiveAssure. We are happy to assist you with this if needed.
Immunizations
What vaccines do I need to travel to Indonesia? Please, check with your local health department. They will provide a listing of immunizations recommended for travel to Indonesia.
Indonesia no longer requires proof of COVID vaccination to enter the country.
Seasickness
Our captain does his best to plan the routing, taking the weather into consideration, but there might be days when the sea is rough. If you are prone to seasickness, please be sure to bring along the medication that works best for you. We always have a good supply of the local brand of Antimo onboard, should you need it.
Current
Indonesia is located within the coral triangle, and offers world class, pristine dive sites. Lucky you, we know them all! Our dive team customizes each trip, taking into consideration the experience level of the group. Many of the big fish dives are prone to strong current. Big fish love big current, and these dives, while exhilarating, can be intimidating for novice divers. We do our best to assure that each of our guests have dives that bring special memories.
Network & Power supply
Electrical power is supplied 24 hours per day, at 240 Volt / 50 Hz. Please make sure your electronics will work with 240 Volts. Our outlets accept European standard type F, and we have a supply of assorted adapters onboard. Internet is available free of charge, when in range of a signal. However, this is not unlimited, so be considerate of others and limit your usage. No streaming or sending big photo files to the cloud. Audio and video from our onboard server, is available in each stateroom, as well as the dining room.
We look forward to welcoming you on a unique and memorable cruise through the Indonesian Archipelago
