Discover our ‘Jet Out and Cruise’ cruise, one of our exclusive and customizable private charter aboard Adelaar.
Indonesia is a vast archipelago of more than 17.000 islands, which offers endless possibilities for liveaboard cruises and private charters! Please note that this tour is only a sample of things we can organize for you, your friends, or your family. Therefore, this private charter is entirely customizable to your personal preferences.
Let’s start this journey up in the air!
Board a seaplane in Bali and enjoy a private flight over beautiful Indonesian landscapes. You will fly over Bali and get a stunning view on its 3 volcanoes: Mt Agung, Mt Batur, and Mt Batu Karu, before flying over Lombok all way to Moyo island, located North Sumbawa. This flight is operated in partnership with Bali’s premier seaplane agency. In Moyo, you will be landing at sea, just a few hundred meters away from Adelaar and its crew waiting for your arrival.
Once aboard Adelaar, you’ll be served one of our Stuart’s delicious drinks while we take care of every detail as you prepare for life at sea!
Enjoy intimate land excursions throughout your private charter
Moyo island and its stunning waterfalls
Moyo Island will be the first step of your wonderful journey. It is as charming on land as it is at sea since this area has a splendid nature reserve. It is home to a wide range of species. Take some time to observe oxen, deer, boars, and a great variety of bird species in their natural environment. This enchanting scenery is surrounded by beautiful coral reefs and crystal water, sometimes visited by the local population of whale sharks.
We will organize snorkeling, diving, and water activities first, to make the most of the visibility underwater. Then you will have just enough time to enjoy one of the delicious meals prepared by Wayan and Made, our Balinese chefs, before heading to shore.
A quick dinghy ride takes you and your loved ones to the local fisherman’s village. We will walk past the school where the children usually greet us with warmth!
Continuing our excursion through the jungle, we take a short walk to the waterfall, one of Moyo’s highlights!
Witness trees filled with flying foxes hanging in masses with wings carefully folded around their young ones. At dusk, the sight of thousands of bats leaving their roost and heading for their feeding grounds is a magnificent spectacle.
Komodo island and its endemic species
Continuing this intimate cruising experience, we will make our way toward the main island of Flores, by entering the Komodo National Park, a highlight of this itinerary.
Komodo is a global conservation priority area. The Indonesian government protects this nature reserve from fishing and keeps very strict rules in place for its visitors. The marine life is so diverse, it is home to more than 76% of coral species, and 37% of reef fish species worldwide! Fun fact, you could get the chance to dive with 6 of the world’s 7 marine turtle species. Exciting, isn’t it?
Our first stop will be on Komodo island. It is one of the only two places in the world where you can meet the historical Komodo dragons (the other one is just a few miles away). The local rangers protecting the island will tell you everything you need to know about these giants.
Keep an eye up in the trees! You might spot a juvenile Komodo dragon hunting insects, rodents, or small birds. Surprisingly, they live in the trees until they are 2 years old! It is also good to know that Komodo island is home for many endemic species and flora.
The Komodo National Park and its vibrant underwater life are also ideal for water activities! If you’re a fan of pelagic encounters, we will take you to the best spots to meet Manta rays, turtles, macro life, and other amazing marine species.
Psssst, you know what? Komodo is just as stunning on the surface than it is below! Enjoy one of the many sunset viewpoints with your friends or family, sipping a cold drink we will prepare for you. Stroll through the magical scenery of Pink Beach, also called the Hidden Paradise. Hike to the top of Padar island, one of the highlights of Komodo National Park. It offers one of its most scenic views! Colors of the sea and land change depending on what time of the day you reach the top, definitely a must-see!
During the journey, we will make a stop to the majestic Sangeang volcano, on our way back to Bali. It forms a small 13km wide island. From time to time, you can catch sight of its smoke from Adelaar’s upper deck. This area is perfect for a unique diving experience! Sulfuric bubbles make their way from the black sand to the surface, giving the impression of being in an underwater jacuzzi!
For guests looking for a more relaxing experience, a massage with hot stones heated by volcanic gas will be an ideal option!
The icing on the cake? We usually see dolphins on the way! They like to swim close to the bow to say hello.
Satonda island, a place where everything becomes possible
Later on, we will go ashore on Santonda island. This location has a special place in its visitors’ hearts. Satonda Island surrounds a saltwater lake that you can easily see after a short hike to the top of the hill. History tells us the lake was filled with seawater when in 1815, a violent eruption of Mount Tambora created a tsunami, flooding all islands nearby.
Take a stroll around the island, and if you do not wish to hike all the way up the hill, alternatively, you can go to the lakeside where you’ll find the ‘Whishing tree’. Hang a piece of dead coral up there and make a wish! If your dream comes true, you will have to return to the island to offer thanks to its spirits.
